My Packages: White Wedding Package- On the Day Coordination
The cheapest and most popular package. Everything is organised by you and I’m here just to help you keep it perfect on the day and make sure that everything runs smoothly and just the way you want it.
Therefore we start of with meeting four weeks ( or earlier as well) prior to your Wedding Day, to discuss your dream, your suppliers, your venue and anything else that I need to be aware of.
Than I will get in contact with all of your suppliers and organise everything with them to make sure that they are all on time, that they know exactly where to place everything at the venue and do it just the way you want it.
The Big Day comes and this is where I will take care of your decorations at the venue, place them the way you want it ! ( Not where the venue or wedding coordinator from the venue wants it !! ).
I will make sure that everything is ready on time.
I will also be there for you on your wedding day for any support with guests or in case of any problems.
I will also be there to help you after the Wedding to finalise everything.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me for further assistance.
It doesn’t matter what kind of ceremony it is, you need to prep it. You want to rehearse it to feel relaxed and at ease that everyone knows their time and place.
If the ceremony is at the church than the priest usually organises rehearsal on the day before. Often bridesmaids and ushers feel very nervous on the morning of the wedding as they aren’t sure what they doing, when they are walking etc. Rehearsal will help you and them massively to relax and feel comfortable with what they have to do.
It is a also a good idea to do sit down “walk through”.
If you can’t do a proper rehearsal than get the bridesmaids and ushers together and talk them through everything:
- Decide the order that you want to go down the aisle.
- Will you be escorted by the parent?
- Once decided, walk through it with music playing. Set your pace and get everybody to stick to it on the day.
- Take your time when walking down the isle otherwise the music will finish before it even starts.
- Make sure to leave the right amount of space between the bridesmaids and the bride so that the photographer can get a good shot of every single one and than the bride at the end.
Flower Girls & Page Boys
Make sure that their parents are close by to keep an eye on them and to make them feel comfortable and focused on what to do.
Also if you hire a professional like me than we are used to dealing with situations like this and to make sure that they do what we need them to.
Live music: work out who will give them a nod when to start.- It would be professional or usher taking care of this.
Recorder music: who will be responsible for pressing play? And fading the music out? - It would be professional or usher taking care of this.
Remember to plan music for every step of the way:
Guests arriving, being seated, processional, signing of register- should be 2 songs
Recessional – one upbeat song works very well
- Ushers to be told about any reserved seats or place little name tags on the chairs.
- Leave clear seat for the bridesmaids.
- Let the flower girls and page boys know where their parents will be sat so they know where to join them.
- Ask anyone doing a reading to sit at the end of an isle so they can easily get in and out.
Make sure they had enough time to practice it and show them where they can stand for it so they don’t need to stress on the day. It might also be good to test how loud they need to speak for everyone to hear. ( Microphone might be needed in big venues).
Order of Recessional
If you want to walk out in specific order than you need to plan this and let everybody involved know at which moment to leave.
This is when you must decide when to throw confetti (if you are having it).
If you organise a rehearsal make sure to only invite necessary people as too many people will confuse things.
Have an agenda and stick to it.
This will ensure that you are more relaxed on your Wedding Day.
Save the Date!!
So today I will talk to you about one of the best ideas invented when it comes to wedding planning.
SAVE THE DATE
This little and most of the time very cheap idea can help us a lot in the process.
It gives us more time to pick the invitations we really like.
It allows the guests to get the days booked off work.
By getting the guests prepared we will receive the RSVP’s quicker as the guests will already be than organised for this.
So here is few really good ideas …
This one is from my new clients, and I absolutely love it. Bride from Poland and Groom from England.
Most of you are out and about looking for venues whether it is for a party or a Wedding so I thought that it would be good to give you some tips on what to look out for and how to choose a right one for you.
Of course you know to ask about the charges but make sure you find out what it actually covers.
- Make sure you ask how many hours and what hours the hire will cover. This must allow you enough time before to decorate it and bring your suppliers in.
- Have a think whether you are having an exclusive use or not.
Be careful with exclusive use their might be hidden charges in those so make sure you ask about everything. Often if it is a Hotel venue they will require you to book all the Hotel rooms or a bigger percentage of them.
- Most people focus on asking venues about maximum numbers but don’t forget to ask about minimum numbers. Most of the venues will have those and if you planning to make your guests list shorter than it is something to consider.
Also check whether the venue has got preferred suppliers list as they might not be happy to work with different ones that they have never worked with before.
But this is usually a good thing as it will save you a lot of money as they will do really good deals and they know the place inside out so everything will be perfect.
If you want to purchase your own drinks because of your preferences or you are from a certain country that has specific tradition regarding to drinking than make sure to check the corkage !
This can cause a massive difference in your final budget if you don’t have it all set and it can get out of control.
If you are planning to have a live band, musicians or DJ’s make sure you check what are the venues regulations on sounds as some of them might have restrictions on how loud and how late the music can play.
Finding this out on the day might cause a lot of problems and no music for your party.
Happy planning and partying!!!
This is the first thing you need to be doing once you are engaged. SO I will try and make this really easy for you. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask. I will be happy to answer any questions.
No one enjoys talking about money but you need to get this right from the beginning. Average Wedding in UK costs £20k but this doesn’t mean that yours have to cost that much or that little.
If it is planned out right you can spend lot less.
- So to start with see how much you have saved up already.
- How much will you save leading up to the wedding.
- How much family contribution you will get if any.
Once you have a rough idea of how much you have got you can go to the next step.
What are your priorities?
- Maybe historic venue or amazing band
- Closest family only or everybody that you know
- Amazing food or amazing atmosphere
The list can go on and on….
So now I want you to think of ONE word that describes your wedding, maybe FUN or ELEGANT …..
Once you have got that both close your eyes and dream your perfect wedding.
Note it down.
What do you see there?
How do you want to feel?
How do you want your guests to feel?
If you need to cut costs than really think what is most important for you both.
Now when your dream is painted and you know how much money you have for it, produce a spreadsheet
Split it into columns
- Drink Reception
- Wedding Breakfast
- Evening Reception
Than you can have sub categories for flowers, stationery, entertainment, cake etc.
Now split the budget between everything that you have listed, registrars, band, food, drink, venue ….
Its easier to work it that way and you can see what you have instead of blowing all the money on the venue and than not having enough for food and drink for your guests.
Little guide for you all:
45% of your budget will go on the reception and 55% on all other aspects of your wedding.
Make sure to have two extra columns stating the expected cost and the actual cost to see how much is being spent at every step of you planning.
This will help you with tracking the over spending !
PLEASE make sure that you leave 5% of the budget for surprises because I promise you there will be some and this can’t be avoided.
The most common thing that gets out of control is the guests list. Don’t loose your head on this. You probably already have the most important guests already set in your head and as much as you would love to invite everybody you know so that you can share your day with them this will not help you.
SO if your budget is limited than make sure you check your guest list. Because if you start adding one friend there and another one there and than they have plus ones than that could get up to 10 extra people.
NOW 10 extra people means:
- Another table
- More stationery for this table
- More flowers
- More food
This can get very expensive ! and don’t over invite hoping that someone will say NO !
Final Tips of the day !
If you decide not to have the wedding planner helping you with the wedding than ask friends and family or even local community to help you with the wedding.
Maybe someone has got a talent that you never knew about and they might save your life, money and time.
There might be someone that has got a nice vintage car, or sister which is a hairdresser. This could save you a lot of money and if you are on a budget that you will appreciate it.
P.s. Make sure that you book the important stuff first so that you don’t go spending money on things that you simply might not have money for.
Happy Planning 😊
In this blog I would like to tell you about a very special venue which is perfect for any occasion.
Whether it is for a Wedding, party or just overnight stay. It is a Hotel with fabulous Afternoon Tea.
By the way the Afternoon Tea is not just for women when they offer things like Sunday lunch Afternoon Tea😉 and even the standard Afternoon Tea has Huntsman’s pork pies to die for.
Netherstowe House is located in Lichfield in Midlands, it is close to beautiful St.Chad’s church, Cathedral, registry office and some beautiful parks.
It is also located close to some beautiful big wedding venues.
So first of all….
Netherstowe House is an enchanting, boutique hotel that has nine boutique bedrooms in the main house, and a further seven petite bedrooms in Yew Tree Lodge – the ultimate in ‘luxury-economy’. There is also two Courtyard Apartments which can sleep families up to 5 people, the Apartment consisting of a double bedroom, double sofa bed and a cot bed with fully fitted kitchen for all your cooking needs.
Don’t forget that most of the time you will need extra accommodation outside of your wedding venue as they just simply won’t have enough rooms for all your guests. Also sometimes you want to get ready with your bridesmaids somewhere else before showing up like a celebrity at the venue.
The Apartment is perfect for an overnight stay with your bridesmaids where you can have few cheeky drinks the night before and than welcome your hairdressers and make up ladies in the morning.
Afternoon Tea mmmmm
This Afternoon Tea is just fabulous and whether it is for a girls day out, calm hen do with mum’s and grandma’s before hitting town or for any of your parties such as Wedding Anniversaries, Birthday’s or baby showers than this venue is what you are looking for.
They offer four private dining rooms, from small to big with maximum capacity of 30 guests.
With beautiful little bar and a cocktail lounge where you can start of your celebrations.
Don’t forget that we all enjoy a good party and we deserve to have some fun, but with our busy life’s there is just no time to sort it all out and make it perfect.
This is why we are here, we can also help with parties, not just weddings. Whether you give us a years notice, months, weeks or even days, we will help you make this occasion perfect and stress free for you.
Happy Planning & Partying !! 😊
With this crazy weather outside the window it’s good time to talk about the weather prep for the wedding.
So here are few different tips:
The rain can appear very quickly even on the beautiful sunny day so make sure that you have some emergency umbrellas in your car, or one of your guests car.
They don’t all have to be white or ivory as long as you as a bride and the groom have got one in the colour matching the wedding as they might appear in your photos.
The Umbrellas will save you from the snow too 😊
To protect your heels, whether you are a bride, bridesmaid or other lady attending a wedding where you will have to walk through potential mud, puddles or snow, try and invest in CLEAN HEELS. They are little stoppers that go on your heels and stop them from sinking.
They aren’t very expensive and they don’t take up much space in your handbag.
Its worth preparing for the Sun too
Your guests can easily get:
- Overheated while standing outside and waiting for you to arrive.
- Getting dehydrated if the arrival drinks aren’t arranged for them.
So please make sure that you arrange some drinks for the guests even if it is just a water table so they can help themselves to something refreshing.
Please also think about any of your suppliers that will be working outside and arrange some drinks for them.
If you decide to have a wedding planner than they will take care of all that for you and they will have umbrellas and any extras in there car and you can have them keeping some bottles of water too.
Happy Planning !!!
Congratulations to all the newly engaged couples to emerge from the Valentines period. Looking forward to meeting some of you
Did you know that more people get engaged on New Years Eve than any other date such as Valentine’s Day, Birthdays or Christmas?
With one recently gone and the second one coming up next week, this means that there is lots of brides-to-be coming up.
This means that I’m getting very excited for the upcoming projects.
So if you are one of the girls that just got engaged or your best friend, sister got engaged and you’re feeling excited than you are probably already starting to look for decorations, hen do and dress ideas.
The best way to save all the ideas you have is Pintrest !! than you can share it with your friends and family or even the Wedding Planner if you decided to have one.
But you definitely want one of these if you are a bride to be...
So I know that you and your Groom are the most important people on your Wedding Day, but don’t forget about your guests.
You have to remember:
- That they will travel far!
- They have paid for their accommodation and outfits!
- They have probably bought you a lovely present too!
Some of them have agreed to attend your hen and stag do’s, which meant takings days off work, paying for their tickets and part of yours. It probably also meant that they have ruined their diets by drinking all this alcohol and eating all the cakes on the Afternoon teas that you went to.
Then on your Wedding day they will arrive early and wait for you patiently even if you are late, they will wait while your'e having your photos taken.
Keep them Entertained
Think of hiring a magician or a singer that will keep them company.
Investigate local buskers which will be cheaper as they will be just starting out their business or maybe someone will be free just to start them off. But test them out and make sure they are trustworthy!
Pamper Room & Sore Feet
Create a little area where your guests can refresh and correct their make up etc.
Also don’t forget that it will be a long day and most of the ladies will be wearing heels, so a basket of flip flops or dolly shoes might be a nice touch ( they aren’t very expensive)
If your wedding is outside, think about those little heel savers !!
This is so exciting, and I could write pages and pages of different ways of how you could ask the most important girls in your life to support you on the Wedding Day as your Bridesmaids.
But I will try and make it short and give you some interesting ideas.
This is the first and most important! Video their reactions of when you ask them to be your bridesmaid. Memories will last a lifetime and you can use it as your wedding day decorations too, whether it will be pictures or video slideshow.
So, you can either do it in a simple way of just meeting up with your bridesmaid to be and ask her.
You can create little bespoke Gift with the question inside. The Photo below is from one of my clients. All the Bridesmaids were presented with a box with their name on it. The boxes were in a line and the bride stood in front with a camera recording the reactions.
The box was filled with a mug with the first letter of their name, a photo frame with photo of the bride with the bridesmaid and a little gift with a friends/sister quote depending on the relation you have with the certain person.
But the Best was on the top of the lid. There was a heart scratch card with a penny on the side, and they had to scratch it to reveal the question!!! One Person had additional question attached under a little cover which stated to scratch it first before lifting this one up!!
I also LOVE this idea
Happy planning girls!!!
Do YOU need a wedding planner?
This is a question that you are asking yourself as soon as you see the adverts or when you start thinking about your wedding day.
So, I know that you want to feel incredible on your wedding day and the question is whether you need a wedding planner to achieve this?
You may be very well organised, highly educated and intelligent but this unfortunately means very busy which is most of my clients and they just don’t have time to organise their wedding.
But to help you, just go through the questions below and if you answer any of those questions with a NO than you should consider hiring a professional to do it for you.
1. Are you able to take calls during the day at work, meet with vendors, and discuss wedding details from work?
Most of your suppliers work normal business hours and you will have to make time for them during the day or take days off work to get all your planning done which means wasting days off at work on driving around or spending hours on the phone and sometimes listening to those awful on hold tunes.
2. Do you know where you're getting married?
If it's your hometown or place you know well than it might be easier than getting married someplace new to you. Where you won’t know any suppliers or venues.
3. Have your friends and family volunteered to help with the wedding planning?
So, they might be all so excited to help you (especially your bridesmaids, mums and sisters), and take charge of it at the beginning. However, the moment it starts getting stressful and it stops them from enjoying them private life they will stop backing out. Also, they will not help on the wedding day after first few drinks.
Trust me I’m speaking from experience on this!!!
4. Are you a very punctual person who writes and follows schedules well?
If not, you need a planner who will keep everything running on time for you during the planning and on the big day. This is probably the most important point because the suppliers don’t like to wait and if you are taking longer than what is agreed they will find someone else who is doing everything on time.
5. Party planning!!! Is that fun for you?
If you dread entertaining, you should NOT be trying to plan your wedding because it won't be fun for you or the guests.
6. Will your fiancé be helping with the plans?
This is a tough question and when discussing this with your partner don’t start an argument please, it’s a very important question.
It is lovely to get help of your partner but if that person doesn’t enjoy planning and organizing parties, it will end up with lots of arguments and very stressful time.
At the end of the day, you both must enjoy your special day not just you!!!
All you will remember years and years after is that you were having very stressful time.
7. Do you understand the overall concept?
If you don't understand how to read a catering contract or a hotel's event order, and you're not sure who you're supposed to tip or whether you suppose to tip at all, you need to hire somebody who gets it all to make life easier.
8. Last but very important too!!! Do you have one specific bossy friend who will organize your wedding day?
She can't be in the wedding party because she is the one:
- Sending everybody down the aisle in the right order
- Checking the cake, flowers, cars hired.
- Making sure that the groom, best man and the rest are ready on time.
- Whether the best man is not too drunk to give a reasonable speech.
- Making sure that the venue dresses everything as promised and as you imagined it, because it will be too late when you get there.
If you don't have a friend who can go through the planning process and all the above with you than you should consider hiring a wedding planner.
Happy Wedding Planning and don’t hesitate to message me for any questions.
Winter Wonderland Weddings
Year 2017 is coming to an end and we are in a Winter season, which means Weddings!!!
Yes!! Winter Weddings can be just as perfect as the Summer ones. When you think of winter it is always about cosy, romantic nights with roaring fires.
Winter Weddings do not mean that they must be Christmas themed like most people think, instead you can create a winter wonderland.
Lovely whites, blues and silvers, with snow flake fairy lights and lovely white roses. White candles spread all over the venue with lights dimmed down.
P.S Instead of using standard name cards, you use small baubles and write the guests names on those!!
It can easily be created in to a lovely romantic and cosy but very elegant wedding.
The Guests than could be welcomed with some lovely winter drinks instead, such as Mulled Wines to warm everyone up.
When thinking about drinks you could also consider having a Hot Chocolate station where guests can help themselves to it with additions of marshmallows, cookies, white chocolate chips and other little additions.
If you would like some help with organising a Wedding or a Party like this, don’t hesitate to contact me on email@example.com
Just imagine creating a Winter Wonderland Wedding!!
Don’t Forget About your Breakfast …
So today I want to talk about Breakfast, and I know you are probably fed up of hearing this, but Breakfast is honestly the most important meal of the day.
Especially on your Wedding Day!!!
I do not leave the house without breakfast and most of the time it’s two eggs, with bacon or smoked salmon, and eggs of course fried on coconut oil.
Anyway, the point is that a lot of brides think that they will be better off without breakfast to look better in the wedding dress, look slimmer and for the photos to look better.
However, the Wedding Day is the most important day of your life so there will be some stress as you are walking down the isle and dealing with the stress on an empty stomach is not the best.
This could lead to fainting or even being sick. Is this what you really want on your wedding day?
Remember there is things that you can eat that won’t change the way you look, like eggs which keep you full for long.
P.S don’t forget how drinking alcohol on empty stomach ends and I’m sure you want to remember your wedding day so getting drunk fast because of being hungry might not be what you want.
So today I want to tell you what is the difference between the Wedding Planner and Event coordinator.
This is a common mistake made by couples and than end up being disappointed before their wedding day or on the day. Your Wedding Day is meant to be One of the best days of your life, so let me help you.
I have been an event coordinator before and I will try to make this very clear for you.
Event Coordinator works for a specific venue, NOT FOR YOU!
They will make sure that everything works perfectly for the venue and that they make money on it, they will not do anything just for you. Unfortunately !
They might also try to incorporate some hidden charges and surprise you with it when you really don’t need it.
Regarding the actual organisation of your wedding day, they will not corporate closely with the other suppliers like florists for example, which might mean that flowers will be in a different place than you imagined or something worse.
The Wedding Planner will take care of everything for you, from making sure that all the suppliers work with each other and deliver items on time, and that all the elements are in the right places.
They will also make sure that the guests are in the right place at the right time, they will deal with bridesmaids braking down because they just got dumped by their boyfriend or making sure that uncle Bob makes it to the Wedding after that double whisky at the bar.
Don’t forget that they will also have an emergency kit with them, for sawing emergencies or to repair your make up after emotional speech.
I hope this helped a little bit and you will choose wisely.
Where it all became clear …
I woke up and it was a lovely sunny day, as always I have had some breakfast and got ready for work.
It was a usual day at the Hotel reception, the phone was ringing and emails coming through.
Suddenly I can hear the reception bell, I open the window and saw two beautiful ladies, Mother and Daughter.
They came to see the place for possible wedding. The lady was having her second wedding and she only wanted a small, intimate wedding with the closest family.
The plan to start with was to get married in Vegas, however the emotional side appeared due to lack of family being able to attend the wedding abroad.
So here came a quick change of mind. The moment the ladies walked through the door they have agreed that this is the place.
We did a little tour around and discussed the details and sorted out the payments.
This is when my life has changed.
Wendy ( The Bride) has been emailing me pretty much everyday to discuss the decorations, menus, drinks, etc..
Some will say this is crazy, but not for me, it was the best feeling ever organising this wedding.
A month before the wedding there was so much to discuss that we ended up sharing the phone numbers and texting each other pretty much everyday.
I also ended up emailing the groom to sort out a lovely surprise for the bride, which was a red carpet ( to bring bit of Vegas over here).
But the Wedding Day came and it was all absolutely perfect. The Bride & Groom Cried, I got butterflies in my belly seeing my couple happy.
The only problem was that it was The End. My phone and emails will go quiet, I will not see any more messages from Wendy.
Than as I went to say my goodbyes to the Bride & Groom, they said “ You were amazing and you should think about doing this as your business”
That was it !!! This has just made it so clear to me that this is the time !!!
So here I am!!
Kamila The Wedding Designer
P.S. If you want to see the review of the work I did with this wedding, see the message from Wendy on the Recommendations page.
When I was a little girl…
I was about 5 years old and It was probably a Sunday as Mum, was rushing around cleaning and cooking.
I was in the living room with my sister watching TV and playing with our dolls.
Than a movie started “The Wedding Planner “, you know the one with Jennifer Lopez.
I couldn’t walk away from the TV, absolutely loved it and this became my absolute dream.
Since than I organised parties for my dolls and teddies.
Than I grew up and organised surprise parties for family, staff parties at work and all the parties at the Hotel & Restaurant where I worked.
However the dream of being a Wedding Planner was just in my head for years until one day.
